Client Accounting Senior Manager

Our client is seeking a Client Accounting Senior Manager to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, and cash management for a portfolio of skilled nursing facility operator clients. This is a hands-on, player-coach role responsible for owning the monthly close process, ensuring financial statement accuracy, and overseeing cash flow decisions tied to vendor payments.

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

• Own and manage the monthly close process across multiple client entities
• Review and finalize financial statement packages prior to delivery to client leadership
• Review journal entries and prepare complex entries as needed
• Perform monthly variance analysis and provide clear commentary on results

Balance Sheet Reconciliations

• Oversee and review all balance sheet reconciliations across client entities
• Monitor key accounts including cash, AR (Medicare/Medicaid), resident trust, fixed assets, debt, accruals, intercompany, and related-party balances
• Ensure reconciling items are resolved timely and do not roll forward
• Maintain documentation standards and review sign-off consistency

Accounts Payable & Cash Management

• Oversee AP workflow including invoice processing, approvals, vendor setup, and payment runs
• Review and approve weekly check runs and ACH batches
• Manage daily/weekly cash positioning across client accounts
• Determine timing and prioritization of vendor payments based on available cash
• Identify and escalate potential cash shortfalls proactively
• Monitor banking activity and oversee inter-account transfers as needed

Client & Team Leadership

• Serve as senior accounting contact for client leadership on escalated issues
• Support onboarding of new clients including COA setup, conversion, and process documentation
• Coordinate with external auditors and third-party providers during audit cycles
• Manage, review, and develop a small team of accountants and AP staff
• Drive process improvements across close, reconciliations, and AP workflows

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting audit or tax background is a strong fit; industry accounting experience equally welcome
• CPA (active or in progress) strongly preferred
• Strong technical accounting and review experience
• Experience in multi-entity environments with intercompany activity
• Healthcare or skilled nursing exposure is a plus
• Experience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, payroll systems, and AP tools (Bill.com, Stampli, AvidXchange, etc.) a plus
