Salary: $24.00-30.00/hr. base on qualifications
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Alarm Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial alarm systems. This includes fire alarms, intrusion alarms, CCTV systems, and access control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electronic systems, low-voltage wiring, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, configure, inspect, and service alarm systems (fire, intrusion, access control, CCTV).
· Diagnose and repair system faults, replace defective equipment, and ensure full system functionality.
· Perform routine maintenance and testing in accordance with local, state, and national codes.
· Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner.
· Educate customers on system operations and provide technical support as needed.
· Complete service reports, documentation, and time logs accurately and promptly.
· Work with dispatch and service management to coordinate schedules and resources efficiently.
· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.
· 2 years of experience with alarm systems (fire and/or security) preferred.
· Working knowledge of NFPA codes, NEC, and industry best practices.
· Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
· Proficient with tools, meters, and testing equipment used in the trade.
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
· Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
· Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods may be required.
Preferred Certifications (not required):
- NICET Level I or II (Fire Alarm Systems)
- ESA/NTS Certification (e.g., Level I Certified Alarm Technician)
- State licensing where applicable
