Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide safe, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate care to critically ill and premature infants.
- Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments, administer medications, and manage advanced equipment.
- Respond to emergent situations and participate in neonatal resuscitation as needed.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Document care accurately following regulatory and hospital policies.
- Support parents and families with education, updates, and emotional reassurance.
- Follow NICU protocols, infection control standards, and patient safety practices.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain readiness to manage complex neonatal cases in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Active California RN License - upon hire
- BLS (AHA) - upon hire
- NRP (AAP) - upon hire
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Client requirement: 2 years NICU RN experience in an acute care hospital (preferred/ideal candidate criteria)
- 2 years acute care NICU experience (Level III/IV)
- Strong competency with neonatal ventilation, IV therapy, thermoregulation, and neonatal stabilization
- Experience in a hospital system serving diverse patient populations
