The Supervisor acts as a liaison between radiologists, technical staff, and administration while also leading initiatives to improve customer service and imaging outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of diagnostic imaging services across multiple modalities
- Schedule and manage imaging staff and coordinate shift coverage
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (including ACR, FDA, MQSA)
- Maintain and enforce quality control standards for film/image quality and technical performance
- Conduct performance reviews, participate in hiring, and oversee training of imaging personnel
- Serve as liaison between radiologists, clinicians, and imaging staff
- Monitor inventory levels and manage equipment maintenance
- Analyze department statistics, develop operational reports, and support budgetary goals
- Lead department initiatives focused on patient safety, service excellence, and workflow optimization
- Education: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an AMA-approved radiologic program (Bachelor's preferred)
- Licensure/Certifications:
- At least one of the following upon hire:
- California Diagnostic Radiologic Technology Certification
- California Fluoroscopy Certificate
- California Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification
- National ARRT Certification (Radiologic Technologist)
- National RDMS, NMTCB, or MRI Certification
- BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience in an acute care imaging setting
- Prior leadership/supervisory experience preferred
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of radiology operations, equipment, safety protocols, and compliance standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams
- Ability to mentor staff, manage workflow, and drive quality assurance outcomes
