What You'll Do
- Diagnose and correct electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical malfunctions on automated foundry production equipment.
- Analyze machine operation sequences to determine root causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer standards.
- Adjust, repair, alter, and pipe water, air, gas, oil, and related systems to meet foundry equipment specifications.
- Read and interpret shop orders, blueprints, schematics, operational manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Test equipment functionality after repairs to ensure proper operation.
- Detect and correct machine malfunctions; escalate complex or questionable issues to appropriate supervision.
- Generate and process shop orders as required.
- Locate, issue, and record parts, tools, materials, and equipment from the maintenance tool crib.
- Operate fork trucks as needed in the performance of job duties.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all safety rules, regulations, and prescribed procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- DC and AC electrical theory
- Pneumatic and hydraulic theory and application
- Plumbing and piping repair theory and practice
- Machine repair theory, including close-tolerance assembly and fits
- Experience using measuring instruments and diagnostic devices.
- Experience understanding the sequence and interrelationship of machine operations, including evaluation of pressure, flow, and dimensions.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to work independently on second shift.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience or journeyman-level equivalent.
- Forklift certification and hands-on experience.
- Prior experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment.
- 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience
- Strong electrical experience
- Experience in the sequence and inter-relationship of machine operations
- Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting
- Blueprint and schematic interpretation
- Preventive and corrective maintenance execution
