Randstad is seeking a high-caliber Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead a mission-critical Agile Release Train (ART) for a premier client in the Washington, DC area. As the "Chief Scrum Master" of the train, you will serve as a servant leader and coach, orchestrating complex PI Planning events, optimizing the flow of value through rigorous metric analysis, and aligning team execution with Enterprise Strategy and OKRs. This role demands a masterful communicator who can navigate a high-visibility environment, bridge the gap between technical teams and Business Owners, and leverage systems thinking to eliminate bottlenecks. Key Responsibilities
Facilitate PI Planning: Lead the end-to-end preparation and execution of 2-day in-person PI Planning events, ensuring ART backlog readiness and WSJF prioritization.
Optimize Value Flow: Establish pull systems and monitor flow metrics (Velocity, Cycle Time, Predictability) to identify and remove cross-team dependencies.
Coach for Excellence: Provide expert coaching to Scrum Masters, System Architects, and Product Management using powerful questions and Lean-Agile principles.
Drive ART Execution: Facilitate essential synchronization events, including Coach Sync, PO Sync, Architect Sync, and Inspect & Adapt (I&A) workshops.
Promote Continuous Delivery: Collaborate with DevOps teams to foster a culture of continuous integration and automated quality practices.
Strategic Alignment: Partner with Business Owners to assign business value and ensure the ART remains aligned with Enterprise Strategy and cascaded OKRs.
Relentless Improvement: Utilize AgilityInsights and TeamHealth assessments to drive the ART improvement roadmap and support the Lean-Agile Center of Excellence (LACE).
Mandatory Qualifications
SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) 6.0 Certification is strictly required.
Scaled Agile Practice Consultant (SAPC) 6.0 Certification (formerly SPC).
AgilityInsights Facilitator Certification for driving data-driven health assessments.
Proven experience facilitating large-scale, in-person planning events for complex organizations.
Advanced proficiency in tracking and reporting Flow Metrics and ART predictability.
Exceptional public speaking skills and the ability to act as the "face" of the ART.
Must be local to or willing to work in Washington, DC to support in-person requirements.
