The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management, planning, execution, and financial outcome of heavy civil and highway construction projects. This includes roadway reconstruction, bridge construction, street widening, drainage system installation/replacement, dirt excavation, and other large-scale infrastructure projects.
The Project Manager will lead project teams, coordinate subcontractors, communicate with clients, ensure safety compliance, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Total Years of Heavy Civil/Highway Construction Experience:

Do you have at least 5 years of blueprint/specifications reading experience?
Do you have at least 5 years' experience with RFIs, Change Orders & Submittals?

- Manage all phases of the construction project lifecycle
- Execute project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Ensure construction activities adhere to timelines and specifications
- Conduct routine site visits to review progress and oversee field operations
- Manage all contract financials (fees, expenses, rental equipment, etc.)
- Responsible for overall project profitability and identifying profit opportunities
- Approve invoices, payroll hours, and oversee billing processes
- Handle correspondence between contractor and subcontractors
- Respond to RFIs, process Change Orders, and ensure compliance with contract specifications
- Submit budget proposals and draft revisions when necessary
- Deliver project reports, documentation, and presentations
- Work closely with Superintendent(s) to manage project scope and risks
- Develop, build, and maintain strong client relationships
- Provide direction and oversight to project engineers, field engineers, and project coordinators
- Manage crises and devise contingency plans when needed
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent training/experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Project Engineer on heavy civil projects ($5M-$30M) including:
- Concrete structures
- Roadways & bridges
- Dirt excavation
- Minimum 2 years of experience supervising or managing junior project engineers
- 5 years reading and interpreting blueprints & specifications for heavy civil projects
- 5 years experience responding to customer inquiries, regulatory agency questions, and community interactions
- 5 years RFIs, Change Orders, and Submittals experience
- Strong analytical skills to define problems, collect data, and draw logical conclusions
- Ability to lead teams in high-pressure construction environments
- Strong communication, scheduling, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to travel as needed (Often)
