Key Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer, you will:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC milling machining processes for new and legacy components
- Create detailed CNC programs, operation sheets, and manufacturing instructions in accordance with engineering specifications
- Define operation sequences, tooling, fixturing, gauging, and machine requirements
- Troubleshoot shop-floor issues related to tooling, work holding, gauging, machining, and inspection
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve manufacturability and producibility
- Review engineering drawings and recommend design-for-manufacturing (DFM) improvements
- Assist with program prove-outs, machine-ready code development, and hands-on production support
- Estimate setup times, run times, and tooling hours to support cost modeling and new business proposals
- Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior engineers and support skill development within the team
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Education & Experience (any one of the following):
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 3 years of relevant experience
- Associate degree with 6 years of relevant experience
- High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong proficiency in CNC Milling Machining, including multi-axis vertical and/or horizontal machining centers
- Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation
It's a plus if you also have:
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
- Experience in the aerospace industry
- Exposure to machine automation integration
- Experience with inspection of machined parts
- Hands-on machining experience with stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum
- Proficiency in Siemens NX CNC Programming
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (Lean Six Sigma certification preferred)
