Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director or designee, independently perform a wide variety of complex and responsible technical, records management, and administrative support duties for the Special Education Department. Responsibilities include auditing, verifying, maintaining, and updating student records and program data related to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other special education information systems; ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of student records; generating standard and complex reports for VCOE administration and state and federal reporting requirements; identifying and resolving data discrepancies; and providing technical assistance to special education staff regarding data entry, records management, and the use of special education and student information systems. Additionally, perform responsible clerical, record-keeping, and accounting support functions related to professional development activities, including preparing and processing training materials and documentation, maintaining records, coordinating payments, purchase orders, and other expenditure documents, and supporting departmental operations.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: • High school diploma, or equivalent, and at least three years of increasingly responsible clerical/secretarial experience, with at least one (1) year of experience working with special education management information systems involving running system queries, extrapolation of data, and reporting. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Valid California Class C Driver's License.
