What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Tax Accountant position at Venteon?
VENTEON AND Harvard Resource Solutions are hiring a Senior level Payroll and Payroll Tax Specialist to provide support in the Troy, MI area. You will support the team by processing accurate, timely payroll as well as working with Accounting to provide data and reports related to 940/941 payroll taxes and benefit deductions.
POSITION TYPE: Full time, direct hire position with PTO and benefits package.
PAY: $90,000 and $105,000 annually based on education/skill level.
Requirements of the Senior Payroll and Payroll Tax Specialist:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge in 940/941/W2 Payroll taxes is required.
- Five or more years of work experience processing high volume, multi state payroll for multiple locations.
- Effective communicator with a high level of professionalism who pays attention to detail.
- Technology savvy: Ability to work in multiple systems and extract data for reporting and compliance. MS Office software with strong Excel capability (Pivot tables/VLOOKUP). Payroll processing using UKG software is required.
Duties of the Senior Payroll and Payroll Tax Specialist:
- Work as part of a team processing biweekly multistate payroll.
- Ensure proper processing of employee expense reimbursements, special pays, annual bonuses, awards, etc. Manage off cycle checks and payroll corrections.
- Maintain employee payroll data in the system such as job changes, addresses, deductions, and banking.
- Post check run: provide and reconcile payroll data /reports needed to pay payroll related invoices such as health/vision/dental/life insurance/401K, etc.
- Work directly with Accounting team by providing and reconciling data related to payroll taxes and payroll tax filings such as 940/941/W2. Produce other types of payroll related ad hoc reports (tax credits, reports by specific regions, demographic information, annual census data, form 5500 data, etc.).
- Provide support to the benefits administration team and management.
- Take part in continuous improvement activities.
