Position Overview

The selected candidate will initially work onsite at Boeing's Everett, WA facility for the first month and transition to a remote role thereafter.
This role requires deep knowledge of FAA/EASA certification, software lifecycle documentation, and DER support, along with hands-on experience in embedded software analysis and testing.

Embedded Software Engineering

Key Responsibilities
Embedded Software Engineering
- Perform detailed analysis of embedded software including:
- Memory management (dynamic/static memory, memory leaks)
- Object code analysis
- Watchdog timers
- Hardware/software partitioning
- Dead code and deactivated code analysis
- Develop and execute embedded software testing strategies
- Conduct:
- Unit testing
- Hardware-Software Integration Testing
- Software-Software Integration Testing
- Create and review:
- Test plans and procedures
- Structural coverage analysis
- Worst-case execution time (WCET) analysis
- Prepare and review certification documentation in accordance with DO-178B/C
- Develop and review Software Accomplishment Summaries (SAS)
- Work with certification artifacts including:
- SDP (Software Development Plan)
- SVP (Software Verification Plan)
- PSAC (Plan for Software Aspects of Certification)
- HLR/LLR (High/Low-Level Requirements)
- SCI, SCMP, SVMP
- Support Stage of Involvement (SOI1-SOI4) audits
- Collaborate with FAA/EASA authorities
- Provide hands-on support to Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs)
- Ensure compliance with aerospace certification standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong experience in Embedded Software Engineering
- Hands-on expertise with DO-178B/C certification processes
- Proven experience preparing certification documents
- Familiarity with all Software Accomplishment Summary (SAS) artifacts
- Experience supporting DERs and audit processes (SOI1-SOI4)
- Solid understanding of FAA/EASA certification requirements
- Experience in aerospace or avionics systems
- Strong analytical and debugging skills in embedded environments
- Prior experience working with Boeing or large aerospace OEMs
