Position Overview
A growing construction and infrastructure organization is seeking a Data Center Construction Estimator to support mission-critical and data center projects throughout the United States. This role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive project estimates by reviewing construction drawings, specifications, RFPs, vendor pricing, and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience in construction estimating, electrical infrastructure, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, or data center environments and can confidently prepare labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and travel cost estimates for complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates.
- Prepare labor forecasts based on installation methods, productivity, crew composition, and project schedules.
- Develop bills of material and obtain pricing from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
- Identify scope gaps, risks, constructability concerns, and cost impacts.
- Evaluate project logistics, travel requirements, mobilization costs, and site-specific conditions.
- Prepare RFIs, clarifications, exclusions, and bid qualifications.
- Support pricing of change orders and project modifications.
- Participate in project turnover meetings and communicate estimate assumptions to project teams.

Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of construction estimating experience.
- Experience in commercial construction, electrical, telecommunications, low-voltage, mission-critical, or data center environments.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience performing material takeoffs and labor-hour estimating.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, labor productivity, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
