Senior Corporate M&A Associate

A leading global law firm is seeking a senior-level Corporate Associate to join its Public Company, Mergers & Acquisitions group in the Fort Lauderdale office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced corporate transactional attorney who enjoys managing sophisticated deals, leading deal teams, working directly with clients, and advising on strategic business initiatives. The role offers access to high-caliber public company transactions across a wide range of industries, supported by the resources and platform of a major international law firm.

The ideal candidate will have 6–8 years of corporate transactional experience, with a strong focus on M&A, preferably gained at a leading law firm.

What You’ll Do

The attorney selected for this role will be involved in sophisticated public company and M&A transactions, including:

• Leading M&A transactions from inception through closing, including deal structuring, negotiation, and execution
• Serving as a primary client contact and advising on legal, strategic, and business considerations
• Drafting and negotiating principal transaction agreements
• Handling high-stakes negotiations
• Supervising and mentoring junior associates and paralegals through all phases of deal work
• Coordinating with specialists across the firm to address complex transactional issues
• Managing post-closing matters, including purchase price adjustments, integration issues, and dispute resolution
• Working with clients across a broad range of industries on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions
  
  

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Florida Bar
• 6–8 years of corporate transactional experience
• Strong M&A experience, preferably from a leading law firm
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage all aspects of a transaction
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, leadership, and communication skills
• Strong client management skills
• Ability to lead deal teams and collaborate effectively with attorneys across practice areas and offices
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Significant experience with cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions
• Experience representing public companies or handling public company M&A matters
• Prior experience at a large law firm or sophisticated corporate transactional practice
