Job Summary

The Registered Dietitian provides comprehensive nutritional care to assigned residents in a caring, safe, and efficient manner. This role ensures that all nutrition services are delivered in accordance with physician orders, individualized care plans, and applicable state and federal regulations. The Dietitian promotes resident independence, dignity, and choice while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure appropriate nutritional care for all residents based on physician orders and individualized care plans
  • Plan, prepare, and monitor nutritious, appetizing meals, snacks, and supplements
  • Ensure meals are served in a pleasant and safe dining environment
  • Assess residents’ nutritional needs and document all care provided
  • Monitor and report changes in residents’ conditions to appropriate healthcare staff
  • Promote resident independence and choice consistent with care plans
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of resident information
  • Follow infection control procedures and adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines, including bloodborne pathogen protocols
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes

Basic Responsibilities

  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures
  • Adhere to the organization’s Corporate Compliance Program
  • Perform additional duties as assigned; responsibilities may change based on business needs

QualificationsEducation & Certification

  • Completion of an accredited Dietetics/Nutrition program
  • Registered with the American Dietetic Association (ADA) and/or state licensure as required
  • Active Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of licensed dietitian experience required
  • Prior experience in long-term care or clinical nutrition preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to measure and interpret nutritional data and food quantities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and documentation

Knowledge

  • Understanding of clinical nutrition practices and dietary regulations
  • Familiarity with infection control and safety standards

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to move, position, and handle objects, tools, and equipment
  • Frequent communication and observation of resident conditions
  • Ability to remain stationary or move as required by job duties
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

Work Environment

  • Moderate noise level
  • Work environment includes healthcare and food service settings
  • Travel requirements may vary depending on business needs

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
