Material Handler Forklift

Overview

The HiLo Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. This position supports shipping and receiving operations by loading and unloading trucks, receiving and staging materials, moving inventory, and ensuring materials are stored and delivered to the appropriate locations.

Key Responsibilities

• ·         Safely operate a HiLo/forklift to move materials throughout the facility.
• ·         Load and unload trucks in accordance with established safety procedures.
• ·         Receive incoming materials and verify materials are properly identified and routed.
• ·         Move pallets, containers, and other materials to designated storage or production areas.
• ·         Stage materials for shipping, production, or customer requirements.
• ·         Maintain organized warehouse and material storage areas.
• ·         Assist with inventory movement and material control activities.
• ·         Inspect materials and loads for visible damage or discrepancies.
• ·         Follow established shipping, receiving, and material-handling procedures.
• ·         Complete required documentation related to material movement, receiving, and shipping.
• ·         Perform pre-use equipment inspections and report equipment concerns or unsafe conditions.
• ·         Maintain awareness of pedestrian traffic and other powered industrial vehicles.
• ·         Follow all company, customer, quality, and safety requirements.
• ·         Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• ·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• ·         High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• ·         Previous forklift/HiLo experience required.
• ·         Forklift training and certification required.
• ·         Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• ·         Ability to safely load, unload, move, and stage materials.
• ·         Ability to follow work instructions and established safety procedures.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This position operates in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment and requires frequent operation of powered industrial equipment. The employee may be required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift or move materials throughout the shift. The work environment may include forklift and pedestrian traffic, loading docks, trucks, noise, and exposure to materials associated with warehouse operations. Appropriate PPE and all applicable safety procedures must be followed.
