What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Forklift Operator position at McClain Manufacturing and Assembly?
Duties:
- Operate a forklift to move, stack, and retrieve materials within a warehouse or production area
- Safely load and unload trucks using a forklift
- Safely transport materials to designated areas within the facility
- Conduct routine inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance or repair needs
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or production setting
- Valid forklift operator certification/license
- Proficiency in operating different types of forklifts
- Strong understanding of basic math skills for inventory management
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
