What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forensic Legal Assistant (Hybrid - Tampa) position at Vantage Forensics: Human Factors, Accident...?
Company Description
Vantage Forensics: Human Factors, Accident Reconstruction, & Biomechanics Inc. is a specialized technical consultancy, not a law firm. We provide the scientific "truth" for complex litigation through rigorous engineering and biomechanical analysis. Our team combines advanced technology with industry expertise to uncover critical insights in accident reconstruction and human performance. We foster a high-performance, collaborative environment that values scientific integrity, precision, and innovative problem-solving.
Role Description
We are seeking a Forensic Technical Paralegal for a full-time, hybrid role in Tampa, FL. This position is the engine of our forensic operations. You will support our engineers and biomechanists by managing the "Technical Discovery" process—ensuring that complex data flows seamlessly from the field to our experts and finally into the hands of our attorney clients.
This role is perfect for a legal professional who is "tech-native" and prefers the analytical world of forensics over traditional law firm paperwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Data Management: Organize and maintain high-stakes data within Clio, including EDR (Black Box) downloads, 3D laser scans, site photography, and police forensic data.
- AI-Enhanced Workflow: Act as a power user of Generative AI tools, specifically leveraging Clio’s Vincent to analyze deposition transcripts, summarize complex medical records, and conduct rapid legal research.
- Expert Exhibit Preparation: Collaborate with technical experts to prepare "Courtroom-Ready" exhibit packages, ensuring all technical findings are cross-referenced with deposition testimony and case documents.
- Case Lifecycle Oversight: Manage the full matter lifecycle in Clio, from intake of raw police data to the final delivery of expert reports and disclosure packages.
Qualifications
- The Tech Stack: Mastery of Clio (Manage/Grow) is essential. You must be comfortable using Clio’s Vincent and other LLMs (ChatGPT/Claude) to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
- Forensic Precision: An obsessive attention to detail. You understand that in biomechanics and reconstruction, a single mislabeled exhibit or data point can change a case outcome.
- Technical Literacy: A genuine interest in how things work. You are comfortable handling diverse file types (3D scans, sensor data, medical imaging) alongside standard legal documents.
- Litigation Experience: A deep understanding of the litigation lifecycle, discovery rules, and the preparation of pleadings and motions. 8 years experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related technical field; Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) certification is preferred.
