What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Clerk position at Vanguard Industries, Inc.?
Pay range, Status & Schedule:
This is a non-exempt position working Monday thru Friday 7:30 am to 4:15 pm with a .45 minute lunch, paying $20.00 per hour.
What you'll do:
- Responsible for collections of past due AR accounts
- Interact with customers by answering phone calls, taking payment information and processing it efficiently and accurately.
- Prepares, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions using the company software.
- Prepares deposit batches and may either do a remote or physical bank deposits.
- Prepares and balances the Cash Worksheet on a daily basis.
- Researches and reconciles payments, customer discrepancies and past-due amounts.
- Reconciles subsidiary accounts on a periodic basis.
- Generates and sends out monthly billing statements to customers.
- Copies, files, and retrieves materials for Accounts Receivable, as needed.
- Relays information to appropriate employees and departments maintaining confidentiality of data, at all times.
- Processes adjustments and credit memos.
- Assists with month-end closing.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
What you'll need:
- Associates Degree in Accounting, or relevant field.
- Two years of Accounts Receivable experience preferred.
- Ability to email customers with strong writing etiquette, verbal and communication skills
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping. Good knowledge of Accounts Receivable principles.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
- Ability to deal with problems effectively and promptly and interact professionally with customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong team player willing to take on new tasks to help in other areas of the Accounting Dept., if needed.
Other requirements:
Incumbent must have reliable transportation.
