What are the responsibilities and job description for the UPH PRODUCTION COORDINATOR position at Vanguard Furniture Co Inc?
Position Summary: Facilitates production flow by monitoring problems in area.
Position Responsibilities:
- Update Acknowledgement Pad when there are issues with an order.
- Expedites all repairs to ensure quick turn-around.
- Fill out repair request form for any quality related issue; i.e. if fabric recut is required.
- Make sure all import frames and parts are setup for production.
- Monitor staging area to ensure that complete acknowledgements are set up for production.
- Monitor cushion and poly deliveries to ensure they are correct and complete. Communicate via email or phone regarding any issues with deliveries.
- Communicates with customer service for clarification on orders.
- Monitor flow of product in order to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure smooth production flow.
- Work with final inspectors on resolving adjustments or repairs.
- Repair factory returns in a quick and effective manner.
- In the absence of coach, will assume leadership role to maintain production and quality level.
- Attends daily meetings to facilitate rush/problem orders.
- Maintains neat and orderly work station.
- Ensure area has needed supplies.
- Wears required safety glasses, work shoes and other PPE as defined for work area; works safely and reports unsafe conditions to Dept. Supervisor.
- Performs stretching exercises.
- Performs other duties as required by supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Must be knowledgeable in upholstery methods with understanding of fabric flow, side drops, and 4-way line up.
- English required for reading tickets and job notes.
- Must have computer skills i.e. AS400, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Must be organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with others.

Physical demands and work environment:
Lift / Carry: Females lift up to 35 lbs. males lift up to 50 lbs.; team lift greater weights.- Standing/Walking: Must be able to stand and walk 8 hours.
Reach / Handle: Frequently required to reach, handle various items.- Crouch/Bend/Stoop/Kneel/Crawl: Frequently required when inspecting furniture item.
- Push / Pull: Frequently moving furniture items on/off lift tables or sliding across floor.
- Environment: Indoors, environmentally controlled β 100%.
- Automation: Scissor lift for positioning when needed.
- Vision: Color determination, observation of patterns, fabric textures and dye tones for quality
control.
- Near Acuity: Requires close vision of less than 3 feet, with or without corrective lenses, for
precision.
