Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day mortgage servicing activities, including loan boarding, billing, payment processing, payoffs, account maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Administer escrow accounts, including analyses, tax and insurance payments, account adjustments, mortgage insurance reviews, and related monitoring.
- Process specialized loan servicing activities, including adjustable-rate and balloon loan notices, re-amortizations, servicing transfers, and other investor-driven requirements.
- Research and resolve complex or escalated servicing inquiries while providing responsive support to internal and external customers.
- Maintain accurate loan records, support audits and reporting requirements, and contribute to process improvements, cross-training, and team initiatives.
- 2–4 years of experience in banking, mortgage loan servicing, or a comparable financial services environment required; High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Working knowledge of mortgage lending and servicing practices, documentation, regulations, investor requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a strong customer-service orientation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, loan servicing platforms, and standard office technology, with the ability to troubleshoot systems and identify efficient workflows.
