Engineer:
Our client is seeking an Engineer with expertise in water and wastewater systems to support the design, management, and oversight of complex infrastructure projects. This role will contribute to ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, protecting local waterways, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions for public utility and capital improvement projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical proficiency with strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
This role is onsite around the Hillsboro, Oregon area.
Engineer Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering planning, design, and project management for wastewater and surface water infrastructure projects.
- Prepare, review, and approve technical plans, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
- Oversee and coordinate construction and maintenance activities, including contractor and consultant work.
- Develop project budgets, schedules, cost estimates, and progress reports, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
- Conduct site inspections and field investigations to verify compliance with approved designs and specifications.
- Prepare easement documents and negotiate with property owners regarding project impacts.
- Represent the organization in meetings with agencies, consultants, and community stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to assigned staff and team members.
Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Sanitary, or Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oregon, or the ability to obtain reciprocity from another state.
- 3 years of engineering experience in the design and/or construction of water or wastewater systems, including conveyance and treatment facilities.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, project management practices, and public works regulations.
- Proficiency with engineering software such as CAD, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, and project management tools.
- Demonstrated experience preparing technical documents, cost estimates, and construction specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and the public.
- Experience supervising or providing technical direction to staff preferred.
