Construction Project Manager:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead complex, high-impact public works initiatives supporting long-term infrastructure modernization. This is a senior-level role for a confident, self-directed professional who can step into a newly created position, manage multiple large-scale capital projects, and help shape evolving project management practices within a collaborative municipal environment.
This role follows a hybrid work model, with regular onsite presence in The Dalles, Oregon required based on project and business needs.
Construction Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead planning, execution, and delivery of large, multi-year public works and infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, transportation, and utility systems.
- Manage projects from early feasibility, funding, and stakeholder engagement through design, construction, and closeout.
- Coordinate closely with internal leadership, engineering teams, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
- Support development and refinement of project management processes while remaining flexible to evolving organizational needs.
- Prepare and deliver clear updates, reports, and presentations for senior leadership and governing bodies as required.
Construction Project Manager Qualifications:
- 8 years of progressive experience managing public works or heavy civil construction projects, with demonstrated senior-level ownership.
- Strong background in water treatment, wastewater, transportation/bridge, or similar infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to operate independently, make sound decisions, and manage complex initiatives with minimal oversight.
- Experience navigating public-sector environments, including funding, grants, permitting, and public stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment with periodic onsite presence and flexibility for occasional evening meetings.
