What are the responsibilities and job description for the BIM Specialist position at Vallum Associate?
Job Summary:
We are seeking an MEP BIM Specialist to support the design and coordination of data center and mission critical projects. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, high-impact team working on complex, fast-paced projects. While experience in data centers is a plus, candidates with strong BIM and Revit experience from other sectors will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain BIM models for MEP systems using Revit
- Support design and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks or similar tools
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams to resolve design conflicts
- Produce construction drawings and model-based documentation
- Update models based on design changes, RFIs, and field conditions
- Participate in coordination meetings and support project delivery across all phases
- Ensure models meet BIM standards, project requirements, and client expectations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- 2 years of experience in BIM modeling (MEP preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Revit (MEP) is required
- Experience with AutoCAD and Navisworks
- Understanding of MEP systems and construction coordination
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Nice to Have (Not Required):
- Experience with data center or mission-critical projects
- Familiarity with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Exposure to clash detection and coordination workflows
- Knowledge of Dynamo or other BIM automation tools
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
