Description
Cenweld Corp.is seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Service Technician to join our commercial truck service and upfitting team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a variety of vehicle body components and installed equipment—such as dump bodies, service bodies, liftgates, cranes, hoists, lighting systems, and more.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience working with commercial vehicles, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair issues on installed commercial truck bodies and related equipment

Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on utility bodies, flatbeds, dumps, cranes, liftgates, PTOs, compressors, and similar components

Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicle bodies and systems

Troubleshoot and repair vehicle wiring and accessory circuits

Perform welding and fabrication repairs when needed (if experienced)

Document all work performed, including labor and parts used

Communicate effectively with service advisors and supervisors regarding repair status and recommendations

Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area

Assist with new equipment installations or retrofits when necessary

Qualifications
Qualifications:
-
3 years of experience as an automotive or diesel technician, preferably with commercial trucks or vocational vehicles

Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills

Understanding of 12V electrical systems and hydraulic systems

Ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment manuals
-
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus

Own a basic set of hand tools

Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality workmanship
Working Conditions:
-
Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule (occasional overtime as needed)

Shop environment with exposure to vehicle noise, outdoor conditions, and physical activity

Must be able to lift 75 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing for long periods
