Description

Cenweld Corp.is seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Service Technician to join our commercial truck service and upfitting team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a variety of vehicle body components and installed equipment—such as dump bodies, service bodies, liftgates, cranes, hoists, lighting systems, and more. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience working with commercial vehicles, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Diagnose and repair issues on installed commercial truck bodies and related equipment 

• Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on utility bodies, flatbeds, dumps, cranes, liftgates, PTOs, compressors, and similar components 

• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicle bodies and systems 

• Troubleshoot and repair vehicle wiring and accessory circuits 

• Perform welding and fabrication repairs when needed (if experienced) 

• Document all work performed, including labor and parts used 

• Communicate effectively with service advisors and supervisors regarding repair status and recommendations 

• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area 

• Assist with new equipment installations or retrofits when necessary

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

• 3 years of experience as an automotive or diesel technician, preferably with commercial trucks or vocational vehicles 

• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills 

• Understanding of 12V electrical systems and hydraulic systems 

• Ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment manuals 

• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus 

• Own a basic set of hand tools 

• Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus) 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality workmanship 

Working Conditions: 

• Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule (occasional overtime as needed) 

• Shop environment with exposure to vehicle noise, outdoor conditions, and physical activity 

• Must be able to lift 75 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing for long periods
