Clinical Manager, Pharmacy, is responsible for strategic planning, implementation, management and monitoring for clinical pharmacy services.
Responsibilities include:
Review and manage drug formulary processes and implement cost savings initiatives through contracts and P&T activities.
Manage, assess and optimize staff performance of clinical services.
Responsible for developing training and educational programming and competencies for clinical programs.
Responsible for implementation and maintenance of clinical pharmacy software applications.
Responsible for the development and management of DUE/MUE and performance improvement programs for pharmacy.
Work collaboratively with team to assure regulatory and survey compliance.
Serve as system content expert for progressive clinical pharmacy services, assuring standardized outcomes at all entities.
Provide oversight for the Winchester Medical Center Pharmacy Residency Program.
Serve as liaison with Shenandoah University for clinical programs.
Education
BS Pharmacy or Pharm D, and advanced degree or certification (or equivalent education/experience) required. Completion of ASHP accredited residency preferred.
Experience
3-5 years appropriate acute care and clinical management pharmacy experience.
Certification & Licensures
Virginia Pharmacist License (or licensure eligibility) Required
Qualifications
Strong understanding of accreditation standards as they relate to medication management.
Thorough working knowledge of pharmacy operations, processes and policies appropriate to hospital setting.
Understands principles of high reliability, performance improvement mechanisms and data collection.
Demonstrates strong communication, organizational and planning skills.
