As a Medical Coder, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accurate coding of medical procedures and diagnoses. Your work plays a vital role in our billing and reimbursement processes, directly impacting the efficiency of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assign appropriate CPT and ICD codes to patient records for precise billing and insurance claims.
● Review medical records and documentation to ensure coding compliance with industry standards.
● Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to clarify medical information and ensure accurate coding.
● Stay updated on coding guidelines and regulations to maintain compliance with industry standards.
● Assist in resolving coding-related denials and discrepancies to ensure prompt reimbursement.
● Work closely with the billing department to facilitate efficient and accurate claims processing.
Qualifications:
● Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification preferred.
● Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
● Previous experience in medical coding, preferably in a podiatry or healthcare setting.
● Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills.
● Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.
