As an integral part of the Valley County Road & Bridge Department team, the Office Support Specialist provides excellent customer service by greeting and assisting the public in person and over the phone. The specialist also handles a wide range of clerical and administrative duties, including data entry, filing, scanning, and copying documents. They are responsible for managing a variety of incoming and outgoing correspondence—from physical mail to emails and faxes—and drafting routine letters as needed. They also assist with inventory control, including ordering parts and supplies and scanning them into an automated inventory system.
Additionally, the specialist assists with maintaining and updating key department records like service requests and work orders, all while collaborating closely with colleagues to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently.

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent customer service skills, experience operating standard office equipment including a personal computer and job-related software applications, and strong attention to detail. Anyone interested in this position will have to pass a background check which includes a previous employment reference check, a criminal record review, and taking a drug test.
