Data Architecture Lead

Overview
This role is responsible for leading the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise data ecosystems. The Data Architecture Lead will define data strategies, establish standards, and guide the organization in building scalable, secure, and high-impact data solutions. This individual partners closely with leadership to translate complex business needs into actionable data frameworks that support decision-making and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric tools, including OneLake, Data Factory, Power BI, and Synapse
• Build and maintain data models, pipelines, and semantic layers to support analytics and reporting
• Lead modernization efforts, including migration to cloud-based data platforms
• Translate business requirements into data architecture and technical design
• Establish and enforce data governance, quality, and security standards
• Optimize performance and cost across data workflows and reporting environments
• Provide mentorship to engineering teams and contribute to architectural standards and reviews

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 7 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or BI solution design
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL, DAX, and at least one scripting language such as Python or Spark
• Proven experience designing data pipelines, integrations, and scalable data platforms
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services
• Experience with dimensional modeling, ETL or ELT processes, and semantic modeling
• Familiarity with CI CD and DevOps practices within data environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred Background

• Experience in data-intensive industries such as finance, healthcare, retail, or insurance
• Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud environments
• Familiarity with modern data architecture approaches, such as lakehouse or data mesh
