Medical Malpractice Paralegal

Vaco has a wonderful opportunity for a Medical Malpractice Paralegal in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a direct hire role that is fully onsite.

Position Summary


A growing legal team is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice or Nurse Paralegal to support attorneys in managing medical malpractice matters from intake through resolution. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and comfortable handling sensitive information while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize case files throughout all stages of litigation
• Communicate with clients, third parties, and external partners to support case progression
• Coordinate and follow up on records requests and third-party discovery
• Review and summarize records (medical, financial, employment, etc.) and prepare case timelines
• Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling hearings, depositions, and key deadlines
• Prepare documentation and materials for legal proceedings
• Coordinate independent evaluations and organize supporting documentation
• Electronically file documents in applicable court systems
• Conduct research using legal databases and public records
• Assist with discovery, including drafting and responding to requests
• Support large document productions and case organization
• Draft and revise correspondence and legal documentation
• Track time and assist with additional projects as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• 5 years of Medical Malpractice/Nurse Paralegal experience
• Paralegal certification strongly preferred
• Experience with electronic filing and litigation procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management tools
