Our client, a large and established technology-enabled financial services company, is seeking an Interim Senior Revenue Accountant to provide additional support within the revenue accounting function.
This position follows a hybrid work schedule, 3 days/week in their office in Oakland, CA. This engagement has a duration of 3 months.
Responsibilities:
- Perform revenue recognition assessments to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies
- Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and supporting documentation across revenue streams
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Research and document conclusions on complex or non-standard revenue recognition matters
- Review contracts to identify performance obligations, transaction pricing, and timing of revenue recognition
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Partner cross-functionally with sales, legal, and finance teams on deal review and revenue implications
- Assist with ad hoc analyses and special projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on revenue accounting
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition principles
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
