Field Service Tech - West (Remote)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician with a strong electro-mechanical background to support customers throughout the Western United States. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex machinery, training customers, and delivering exceptional field service support within manufacturing environments.

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and optimization of packaging and labeling equipment while serving as a trusted technical expert for customers across the region.

Job Type: Full-time/Perm

Compensation: $40-$45/hour (W-2) Daily Overtime

• Perform on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of packaging and labeling equipment.
• Train customer operators and maintenance personnel on machine setup, operation, changeovers, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls-related issues.
• Prepare detailed service reports documenting problems identified, corrective actions taken, and recommendations for future improvements.
• Assemble components and support aftermarket parts operations as needed.
• Participate in machine rebuilds, retrofits, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Research machine designs and identify non-standard replacement components.
• Maintain strong customer relationships through responsive service and technical expertise.
• Travel extensively throughout the Western U.S. to support customer installations and service requirements.
  
  

• 3-6 years of experience in a Field Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar manufacturing support role.
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Pneumatic systems and machinery
  • Servo motors and motion control systems
  • Stepper motors and controls
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to travel 75-85% throughout the Western United States.
  
  

• Experience supporting packaging, labeling, converting, printing, or automated manufacturing equipment.
• Prior experience providing on-site customer training and technical support.
• Strong understanding of industrial automation and motion control systems.

• Technicians are issued a company credit card for all approved travel expenses.
