Cost Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking an Interim Cost Accounting Manager will lead all aspects of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing financial analysis. This role is critical in driving cost visibility, margin improvement, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and maintain standard costing models, including updates for labor, materials, and overhead
• Analyze cost variances (purchase price, usage, labor, overhead) and provide actionable insights
• Oversee inventory valuation, cycle counts, reserves, and obsolescence analysis
• Ensure accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting and margin analysis
• Partner with plant operations, supply chain, and procurement to understand cost drivers
• Identify opportunities to improve yield, reduce waste, and optimize production costs
• Support new product costing, pricing decisions, and product profitability analysis
• Lead cost-related close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes related to COGS and manufacturing costs
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 6-10 years of accounting experience, including manufacturing cost accounting
• Strong expertise in standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
• NetSuite Experience required
