Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish, enforce, and update proper safety procedures and policies for all training.
  • Ensure that all preparations are made in support of training programs provided by the company, whether to the public, private corporations, or governmental, law enforcement, and military agencies; including but not limited to the setup and breakdown of training aids, targets, ammunition, firearms, visual aids, and reference materials.
  • Collaborate on daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly training schedules in a shared drive and ensure dissemination of information within the relevant departments in support of training functions.
  • Interface with “walk-in” customers to inform and educate them on the company’s training programs and capabilities.
  • Plan, develop, institute, and evaluate professional training and qualification courses for range safety officers and trainers.
  • Hire, train, monitor, develop, and evaluate training staff.
  • Maintain and account for all training equipment and firearms.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all facilities prior to and after training courses and events.
  • Create and maintain the following:
  • Safety standards
  • Training curriculum
  • Training schedules
  • Trainer evaluations
  • Incident reports
  • Inventory files and records
  • Maintenance reports
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) – as related to training
  • Perform duties as an instructor for any course offered by the company.
  • Maintain and build upon professional knowledge base, proactively seeking professional development opportunities, attending courses to enhance training skill set, apply new skills and techniques to current and future training modules, and staying abreast of industry trends.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain good customer relations to ensure the customer has an exceptional learning experience at the facility.
  • Assist in developing strategy and recommend innovative changes for efficiencies, customer service, and overall better practices.
  • Develop, review, and refresh proprietary course curriculum for all training programs in line with industry standards and best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a trainer or instructor on firearms and tactics
  • Prior Instructor experience in the following disciplines: Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun
  • Knowledge of training design, development, and implementation best practices
  • Firearms Instructor certifications preferred
  • 5 years of Military experience in a combat MOS; Special Operations experience is preferred
  • Attended an Instructor Development Course with a focus on adult learning theory
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • High-level project management skills are required to handle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring strict timelines and budgeting concerns are met
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
