At Uvalde Memorial Hospital, every team member plays a vital role in creating a safe and healing environment. As an EVS Team Lead, you will guide and support Environmental Services staff in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming hospital for patients, staff, and visitors. Your leadership is essential to infection prevention, team performance, and the overall patient experience.

In This Role, You Will

• Supervise and coordinate daily work activities of EVS staff to ensure all areas of the hospital are clean and well-maintained.
• Assign duties, monitor performance, and inspect completed work for quality and compliance.
• Lead by example by working alongside the team and assisting in all EVS roles as needed.
• Conduct staff huddles and safety meetings to promote communication and accountability.
• Support onboarding and training of new employees to ensure proper procedures are followed.
• Perform patient and facility rounding to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
• Monitor and maintain supply levels, ordering as needed to support operations.
• Ensure infection control practices, performance indicators, and cleaning protocols are followed.
• Respond to staff and patient requests promptly and professionally.
• Communicate daily updates, concerns, and accomplishments to the EVS Manager.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• A dependable leader with a high school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written (additional languages a plus).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
• Ability to stay organized, multitask, and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
