EVS Team Lead – Environmental Services Department

At Uvalde Memorial Hospital, every team member plays a vital role in creating a safe and healing environment. As an EVS Team Lead, you will guide and support Environmental Services staff in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming hospital for patients, staff, and visitors. Your leadership is essential to infection prevention, team performance, and the overall patient experience.
In This Role, You Will:
- Supervise and coordinate daily work activities of EVS staff to ensure all areas of the hospital are clean and well-maintained.
- Assign duties, monitor performance, and inspect completed work for quality and compliance.
- Lead by example by working alongside the team and assisting in all EVS roles as needed.
- Conduct staff huddles and safety meetings to promote communication and accountability.
- Support onboarding and training of new employees to ensure proper procedures are followed.
- Perform patient and facility rounding to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
- Monitor and maintain supply levels, ordering as needed to support operations.
- Ensure infection control practices, performance indicators, and cleaning protocols are followed.
- Respond to staff and patient requests promptly and professionally.
- Communicate daily updates, concerns, and accomplishments to the EVS Manager.
What We're Looking For:
- A dependable leader with a high school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting.
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written (additional languages a plus).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to stay organized, multitask, and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
