Role Description The Parts Counter Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Cheyenne, WY. This position is responsible for assisting customers at the parts counter, identifying required parts, providing product information, and processing orders accurately and efficiently. Daily tasks include handling phone and in-person inquiries, preparing quotes, coordinating with the service department, and supporting sales of trailer parts and accessories. The role also involves managing inventory at the counter, receiving and stocking parts, organizing displays, and ensuring a clean, safe, and customer-friendly environment. The Parts Counter Representative collaborates with team members to resolve issues, support special orders, and maintain strong relationships with both new and repeat customers.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to support diverse customers professionally and courteously.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, technicians, and team members in person, by phone, and by email.
- Experience with sales and parts counter activities, including quoting, upselling, and order processing.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes and basic inventory control practices.
- Basic mechanical or trailer parts knowledge, or a willingness to learn product lines and applications.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets).
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift parts as needed, and work safely in a shop and warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in automotive, heavy equipment, or trailer parts is preferred.
