Utica Coffee Roasting is growing, and we're looking for people who are passionate about craft coffee and committed to outstanding customer service. We run a fast-paced, high-volume cafe, and we need a barista who thrives under pressure. You should be quick on your feet, able to multitask without sacrificing quality, and comfortable keeping pace during our busiest rushes while still delivering a great customer experience.

What You'll Do

• Greet customers warmly and assist both behind the counter and on the floor
• Share menu recommendations and answer questions about ingredients and coffee options
• Educate customers about our coffee, our company, and our local area
• Take orders accurately, noting preferences for blend, dairy, and sweetness
• Prepare beverages according to our recipes and quality standards
• Serve beverages and prepared food such as cookies, pastries, and muffins
• Process cash and credit card payments
• Keep the bar and workspace clean and organized
• Maintain stock of clean mugs, plates, and supplies
• Monitor brewing equipment and report maintenance needs promptly
• Follow all health and safety regulations
• Share customer feedback with management and suggest new menu ideas

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience as a barista, server, or in a customer-facing role preferred, ideally in a fast-paced or high-volume setting
• Ability to work quickly and accurately during busy rushes without cutting corners
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to solve problems independently and think on your feet
• Comfort operating brewing equipment (or willingness to learn)
• Understanding of basic sanitation and food safety practices
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends
• Basic math skills for handling transactions
• A genuine, intuitive drive to deliver a great customer experience
• High school diploma required; relevant training or certifications a plus
