What You’ll Do
- As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk III, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our products are assembled and shipped with precision and care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
- Operates banding crimping tools, including diagnosis, repair and processing.
- Operates the stretch wrap banders.
- Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
- Responsible for arranging for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the District or Operations Manager.
- Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Required to make pick-ups and deliveries to our customers and suppliers for parts and raw materials using a company vehicle.
- Good communication skills, since calibration technicians report the results of their tests to engineers, managers, vendors, and customers.
- Good vision, math skills, and sharp eye-hand coordination.
- Assist with additional tasks as necessary.
- Observe all safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and perform all job responsibilities in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Strong ability to problem-solve, work on many things simultaneously, and pay attention to details.
- Previous experience in a similar capacity.
- Familiar with MS Office including; Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Must have a basic understanding of computers and be able to save files, create documents.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4-6 years of experience in a similar role.
- Preferred: Forklift experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to use measuring tools and basic computer programs
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; and stoop
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and follow safety protocol.
