What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) position at Utah Gastroenterology?
Busy and fast-paced GI clinic is looking for outgoing, responsible individual to work as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting. Duties include: phone triage, prescription refills, rooming patients, electronic charting, scheduling appointments, answering phones and other duties as assigned. Full-time position (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Previous medical assistant experience is a plus.
Ideal candidate will have graduated from a medical assistant program and have a current certification (CMA) or registration (RMA) by either agency (American Registry of Medical Assistants or American Association of Medical Assistants). However, certification is not required for the position.
Spanish / English bilingual skills a plus.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- HS Degree
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience required
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Works well both independently and in team setting
