JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of Dr. Makhnoon, the individual in this position will be involved in an active research lab with several large grants and participate in many aspects of the research process, including recruitment of patients into research, data collection, data management, and development and maintenance of a database for participant recruitment and tracking. These duties will primarily focus on public health genetics studies designed to understand translation of genetic information into clinics, healthcare settings, and communities with the ultimate goals of preventing hereditary cancers.
Recruit and screen participants for multiple research projects; recruitment may take place on or off campus or via telephone.
Schedule appointments, obtain consent forms, explain study to participant and collect data. Interview participants for assigned research projects; interviews may be in person, in clinical setting, subject's residence or by telephone.
Travel to recruitment sites as needed.
Perform a variety of research duties such as library reference materials search for necessary project information.
Perform medical records abstractions, data administration, coding and entry.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree In related field
Preferred
- Experience
Bachelor's degree in genetic, behavioral, social science or public health.
Proficiency is English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
Prior research experience preferred.
