Job Description
The Lead IT Solution Architect serves as the senior technical leader of the Architect Solution and Partnership (ASaP) Team , the central hub for infrastructure solution design and delivery coordination. This role defines resilient, scalable, and secure IT blueprints aligned with institutional and healthcare requirements. The Architect Lead partners with IT domain experts (network, systems, cloud, identity, storage, and security), the Infrastructure Solution Delivery Coordinator, and IT Partners to ensure all designs meet business, clinical, and operational needs while supporting modernization, automation, and disaster recovery goals.
This position is hybrid as on-site meetings with the ASaP Team may be required to meet with Stakeholders. Local applicants are preferred.
- Responsibilities
- Lead the ASaP team, setting priorities, coaching members, and reporting outcomes aligned with institutional goals.
- Drive enterprise architecture standards by chairing design reviews and ensuring all solutions align with IT strategy, resiliency, and compliance requirements.
- Translate business and clinical needs into clear architecture blueprints, guiding infrastructure SMEs and delivery teams.
- Provide technical governance and mentorship across infrastructure and operations to promote best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with project management and delivery teams to maintain architecture integrity throughout implementation.
- Integrate resiliency, disaster recovery, and security principles into all infrastructure solutions.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies—including AI/GenAI—to enhance automation, modernization, and cost transparency.
- Collaborate with IT leadership on IT as a Service strategy, modernization initiatives, and technology roadmaps.
- Engage with vendors and internal experts to assess new capabilities and ensure scalable, future-ready solutions.
- Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Proven ability to design and deliver hybrid (on-prem, cloud, SaaS) environments with built-in resiliency and automation.
- Resiliency & Continuity: Strong understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability design.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating across IT domains, ideally in healthcare, research, or higher education.
- Communication: Excellent ability to translate technical architecture into clear business context for non-technical audiences.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Six (6) years of information technology and software/technical architecture experience is required.
- Ten (10 ) years in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or solution architecture, including 3–5 years in a leadership or architecture oversight role.
