Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to support the Portfolio Margin and brokerage platform at E*TRADE. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology (70% business / 30% technical) and focuses on delivering enhanced margin capabilities, including additional leverage solutions for clients based on buying power.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to define and enhance Portfolio Margin capabilities, enabling increased leverage and optimized buying power for clients.
- Translate business requirements into clear, technically-oriented user stories for development teams.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure proper understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data flows.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Manage and track requirements using JIRA, ensuring alignment with Scrum methodology.
- Analyze current margin systems and identify opportunities for improvement in risk management, client experience, and scalability.
- Act as a bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring accurate implementation of requirements.
- Validate delivered features through testing support and ensure they meet business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, preferably in brokerage or margin trading environments.
- Solid understanding of Portfolio Margin concepts, including leverage, buying power, and risk frameworks.
- Ability to write detailed, technically sound user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and proficiency with JIRA.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable requirements.
Technical Knowledge (Must-Have)
- Understanding of APIs (how systems communicate and integrate).
- Familiarity with databases and data structures (SQL knowledge preferred).
- Exposure to software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Prior development or technical background is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with brokerage platforms or trading systems (e.g., margin trading, risk engines).
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations related to margin accounts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
