Overview
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Evening Shift; Will include rotating weekends. Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Admitting Patient Rep Lead assists in the direction of the Patient Access Supervisor for the oversight of activities of the Emergency Department and Admitting Registration functions. This position is responsible for providing feedback on daily registration processes and staffing issues to the ED Patient Access Supervisor.They must be able to lead Admitting Staff with minimal supervision. The Lead will provide assistance to staff level employees as necessary to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures. Will be assisting with insurance verification and financial counseling for patients in the ED, direct admits, and surgical patients. Manages/delegates assignments in the ED when the highest volume of patients occurs and coordinates Admittingâs daily closure. Will train new staff while coordinating interdepartmentally and manage registration of patients, Financial Clearance, & Good Faith Estimates. Additionally, the Lead will assist leadership with staffing, report reconciliation, QA processes and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Required:- 1 years of registration and insurance verification experience at CHLA OR 3 years of related external experience.
- 2 years of ED experience and 2 years of Clearance Experience.
- Experience with collections of patient liability.
- Familiar with Software-based translator tools.
