Our client is a fast-growing EV and sustainable living company redefining how people work, rest, and travel through fully electric, solar-powered living vehicles. Built in Fremont, California by a team of automotive and consumer technology veterans, the company is disrupting the RV industry with a fully electric trailer designed for off-grid living, home backup power, and EV charging capability.
The company has recently transitioned from development into production and commercialization, with early sales underway and a Series C fundraising process in motion. With ambitions that extend beyond RVs into broader sustainable living systems, this is a high-growth hardware company operating at the intersection of automotive, energy, and consumer tech.
We are looking for a Manager of Manufacturing Quality Engineering with 7 years of experience to build and lead the quality engineering function for a rapidly scaling EV manufacturer. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for establishing end-to-end quality systems across assembly and production, managing a small team, and owning supplier quality relationships across global manufacturing partners.
This is a full time, onsite position in Fremont, CA - you should be based in the Bay Area as relocation assistance is not available at this time. Visa sponsorship is available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and implement quality management systems and inspection frameworks from the ground up, including IQC, IPQC, and end-of-line (EOL) processes
- Lead root cause investigations, MRB reviews, CAPAs, and SCARs to drive continuous production improvement
- Manage and mentor a team of quality engineers and inspectors, setting standards and driving execution
- Own supplier quality relationships with global manufacturing partners, including regular coordination with China-based suppliers outside standard working hours
- Partner closely with Design, Manufacturing, and Production teams to embed quality into every stage of product development and production
- Develop and maintain quality control plans, inspection standards, and continuous improvement processes across production lines
Key Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering within automotive or hardware industries
- 2 years of experience managing or leading a quality engineering team
- Proven experience building quality systems and processes in a startup or early-stage manufacturing environment
- Strong expertise in IQC, IPQC, and EOL inspection frameworks and quality control planning
- Hands-on experience with FMEA, SPC, GD&T, MRB, CAPA, and SCAR processes
- Experience managing global supplier quality relationships, including China-based manufacturing partners
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
- Based in the Bay Area and willing to work on-site 5 days per week in Fremont
- Comfortable with evening calls (5-8pm PT) with suppliers in Asia

Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
