Job Summary

These images are essential for radiologists and physicians to diagnose a wide variety of diseases, disorders, and trauma.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Safety: Confirm patient identification, explain procedures to reduce anxiety, and monitor patients for comfort and potential adverse reactions to contrast agents.
- Imaging Procedures: Operate CT scanners to capture high-quality diagnostic images of internal organs and tissues according to established protocols.
- Contrast Administration: Prepare and administer intravenous (IV) or oral radiocontrast agents as required for heightened image clarity.
- Radiation Safety: Adhere strictly to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles and radiation safety protocols to protect both patients and staff.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily warm-up sequences, calibrate equipment, and report malfunctions to ensure optimal scanner performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and successfully transfer images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active state license as a Radiologic Technologist (where applicable).
- Certification:
- ARRT(R) certification required.
- ARRT(CT) post-primary certification preferred or required within 6 months of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
