Responsibilities
- The AV Technical Specialist will provide guidance on AV equipment needs, provide recommended standardized options, install equipment, train IT staff in support and provide education to end users as well as support major AV meetings
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance as needed
- The AV Technical Specialist may also assist with IT requests and issues
- Coordinate with AV vendors, infection control, IT, and end users
- Able to physically move and install systems which may include working in ceilings and walls and lifting larger pieces of equipment such as TVs
- Organized and possess strong communication, documentation, and communication skills;
- Familiarity with most of the following types of equipment: transceiver/receiver devices, microphones, powered speakers, powered amplifiers, cameras, system control panels, smart boards, projectors, soundbars, digital signage, white noise speakers, overhead paging
- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Related duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama with a focus in IT, administration, or AV and 3 years of IT or AV experience such as installing or supporting transceivers/receivers, powered speakers and amplifiers, or AV systems with control panels Required OR
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama with a focus in IT, administration, or AV and 1 year of IT experience Required
- Related IT or AV experience will substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education Preferred
- Experience with healthcare or academic IT and AV is Preferred
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
