US Trades is seeking a Quality Technician to support conveyor and material handling system installation projects across the United States. This role is responsible for inspecting, auditing, and verifying the quality of installation work to ensure compliance with project specifications, construction drawings, manufacturer requirements, and customer standards.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a quality control, quality assurance, inspection, or construction verification role and possess the ability to read construction drawings, interpret dimensions, perform measurements, and identify installation deficiencies. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that conveyor systems are installed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements before turnover to the customer.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform quality inspections of conveyor and material handling system installations.
• Verify installation accuracy using construction drawings, layout drawings, shop drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
• Measure and confirm elevations, dimensions, alignments, spacing, and equipment placement.
• Inspect structural, mechanical, and conveyor components for proper installation and workmanship.
• Document inspection findings, deficiencies, and corrective action requirements.
• Maintain detailed quality reports, inspection logs, and project documentation.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Site Supervisors, and installation contractors to resolve quality issues.
• Conduct routine audits of ongoing work to identify deficiencies before project completion.
• Verify completion of punch list items and corrective actions.
• Assist with turnover documentation and final quality acceptance activities.
• Ensure compliance with customer quality standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
• Communicate professionally with project stakeholders regarding quality concerns and corrective measures.
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality control, quality assurance, inspection, construction, or related field.
• Experience working on conveyor systems, material handling equipment, industrial construction, mechanical installation, or similar projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, layouts, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of measurements, dimensions, tolerances, and installation verification techniques.
• Ability to identify installation deficiencies and document findings clearly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and digital reporting tools.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to work on active construction sites and in industrial environments.
• Ability to walk projects extensively throughout the day.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas when required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working around active installation activities and construction equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience inspecting conveyor systems, automation equipment, or material handling installations.
• Experience with warehouse, distribution center, e-commerce, airport, or manufacturing facility construction projects.
• Familiarity with quality control documentation, punch lists, and turnover processes.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience using laser measuring devices, levels, and other inspection tools.
