This position is for a HR Assistant (Military), Position Description Number T5652P01 located at the 165th LRS, Garden City, Georgia.
This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, position which DOES NOT require a National Guard commitment.
Area of Consideration: Open to all United States Citizens.Qualifications:Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Specialized Experience: Must have one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-5) in the Federal Service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience typically includes, but is not limited to: assisting commanders and supervisors on human resources (HR) programs affecting full-time employees and AGRs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: Must have successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work and be directly related to the duties of this position. TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED - OR -
Must have completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree and have Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A). S.A.A. must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work and be directly related to the duties of this position. TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED
S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
1. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.
2. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of:
a. 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or
b. 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B " or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.
3. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society.

Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-7 level. To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned (when substituting, you cannot use the first 60 semester hours that you earned). Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-7. For example, an applicant who has 9 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e. 50% of graduate education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position.
