What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision Grinder position at Urethane Innovators, Inc.?
Summary of Position:
Operates multiple lathes and CNC machine to trim and grind urethane parts and covered rollers. Uses lathes and hand tools to strip urethane from cores and prepare cores for casting. Reads and interprets company documents and technical drawings. Performs advanced complexity grinding procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Following all safety guidelines
Proper use of PPE
Workplace cleanliness to avoid product contamination and increase safety
Determining good parts from bad parts and separating for verification
Understanding personal impact on the quality of products in an effort to meet quality objectives
Reading Sales Orders and Technical Drawings
Understanding tolerances and precision work
Understanding process flow and designated areas for parts
Inspect core and verify to Sales Order before performing work
Proper handling of cores
Proper hand tool use
Setting up lathes including speed and feed, tool selection, machine selection etc.
Operating lathes and CNC machine properly with accurate results
Monitoring lathe irregularities and notifying management when maintenance is required
Setting up and utilizing the most complex grinding procedures
Uses measuring instruments to inspect and measure machined products to verify conformance to specifications
Mentoring intermediate and entry level precision grinders
Marginal Duties and Responsibilities:
Works independently and also as a team member.
- Support the goals and objectives of the Company.

- Handle all projects with a positive attitude.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to switch from task to task (flexible) during the work day and work cooperatively with all staff.
- Exposure to extreme heat and noise
- Prolonged Standing
- Ability to communicate with others in order to gather and exchange information.
- Must be able to bend, lift, stoop and reach in order to perform all necessary job duties. Able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs as needed.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
Can follow directions and has good attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.94 - $18.00 per hour
