URBN Construction Estimator

Role Summary

URBN is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and self-driven Commercial Retail Construction Estimator eager to join our team. The position will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and scope summaries for various commercial retail construction projects (renovation/remodel, interior fit out, special project, ground up, big box, distribution center etc.). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction means & methods, materials and pricing, labor costs and markets (domestic/international) and will work closely with our internal and external teams.

Role Responsibilities

• Must be able to complete accurate quantity take-offs, prepare project scope outlines/summaries, review proposals and conduct various bid work
• Prepare budgets based on an understanding of design, constructability, and internally established project phasing with estimates done via analysis of proposals, blueprints/plan sets, specifications, and various real estate documentation
• Take ownership of internal bid/budget distribution and communication
• Review plans for consistency and accuracy
• Create estimating spreadsheets/reports, trend analysis and analytical cost database tools by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Participate in various meetings throughout project life cycle as well as value engineering discussions when necessary.
• Perform necessary research to produce accurate, complete, competitive pricing in line with current industry economics (labor, commodity pricing, time requirements etc.)
• Follow up on all bid projects as needed via verbal and written correspondence
• Resolve discrepancies through analysis of collected information and provide partners with sound, informed opinions which are both best practice and fiscally prudent

Role Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field
• 3-5 years of estimating experience
• Experience bidding project types including but not limited to Commercial Retail Store, Corporate Office, Lifestyle Center, Big Box and Distribution Center etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience in relevant industry estimating software a plus (Smart Bid, PlanSwift, ProEst, Bluebeam Revu, Procore, WinEst, P6 Primavera etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and efficient
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience with retail rollouts or multi-site programs.
